And because Synergy is totally cross-platform, your Mac and PC can work together side-by-side almost seamlessly.
Synergy Plus. With lots of bug fixes and stability improvements, those who've tried Synergy in the past will find a far more stable experience these days. As an added bonus, the Windows build even comes with an improved GUI for simple setup; Mac and Linux users, however, will need to download a graphical front-end of their own. QSynergy is your best bet, and is almost identical to the Windows GUI, but others exist as well. Just make sure you've installed Synergy Plus first.
Once each machine has a copy installed, one computer must be designated as the host. This is the computer with the primary keyboard and mouse, and the machine that will be used to control all the others. The server is also the machine from which you can control all of Synergy's advanced options — for example, screen position and hotkeys. The latter is particularly handy on Mac/PC setups, where Alt and Control keys posses different functions in their respective operating systems.
